How to Make Explosives in V Rising

Recommended Videos

As you find yourself pitted against stronger foes, you’ll need every advantage that you can get your claws on in V Rising. You’ll be able to more gear and equipment as you get further into the game, further increasing your level alongside your ever-growing skills. You’ll also be able to craft different types of weapons to help you out in a pinch, or from a distance. One of these would just so happen to be explosives, causing massive damage to your foes.

But, how do you start making your own explosives in V Rising? Thankfully, it’s a bit simpler than expected, but still can be confusing to get started. Let’s sink our fangs into the meat of this guide, and get right into the nitty-gritty of how you’ll be able to start crafting your explosives in the game!

Making Explosives in V Rising Easily

If you’re looking to get down and dirty with explosives, you may have to make some more progress in the game before you’re able to create and utilize these powerful weapons for yourself. The first thing that you’ll need to do is continue fighting bosses, and other characters to get your gear level up to level 30 or higher. The reason for this is that you’ll need to hunt down and defeat Clive The Firestarter, a Level 30 boss. You’ll be able to find him in the Bandit Sulphur Quarry.

After you have won this battle, you’ll unlock the ability to craft and create the Alchemy Table, which is required to start crafting explosives. You’ll want to make your way back to your castle and get to work on creating this crafting machine, so you can make a plethora of different items, including the main attraction.

Once you have created and placed the Alchemy Table in your castle, you’ll need to make sure that you have, or find, these specific items:

  • 8x Sulphur
  • 8x Planks
  • 4x Whetstone

If you follow our guide on which bosses to fight first, you’ll be able to start crafting Whetstones, or you’ll be able to find them out and about in the world as well. Sulphur can be found in the area where you fought Clive the Firestarter, and planks can be created with the help of the Sawmill. Once you have all of these materials, it’s time to bring the boom to the next set of bosses, and give you the upper hand in your next fight.

V Rising is available now, in early access, on Microsoft Windows.
