Who Are the Best Overwatch 2 Heroes? Ranked Tier List

Recommended Videos

There are multiple variables that determine who the best Heroes are in Overwatch 2. First, the best Hero in Overwatch 2 is subjective. Second, every character in Overwatch 2 can be the best if played right. The beauty of Overwatch 2 is that all of the Heroes, no matter the class, are on a fairly equal playing field when it comes to who is better than who.

That said, there are a few Heroes in each class that slightly outshine the rest in terms of quality. But, again, every Hero is good and can be the best in the right hands. Here are the best Heroes in Overwatch 2 ranked from S-tier to B-tier.

Overwatch 2 – S Tier Heroes

Overwatch-2-Junker-Queen

In the S-tier, you’ll find Overwatch 2 Heroes that have extremely effective kits. So effective that some of them could receive a slight nerf and still be incredibly good. Here are the S-tier Heroes in Overwatch 2.

S-Tier Tank Heroes

  • Junker Queen
  • Roadhog

These three Heroes are in the S-tier because they are extremely powerful Tanks. They all can kill enemies efficiently, heal themselves when needed, and still protect their entire team from oncoming attacks.

S-Tier Damage Heroes

  • Junkrat
  • Sombra
  • Bastion
  • Ashe
  • Hanzo
  • Genji

These five Damage Heroes are S-tier because of their unique abilities, ultimates, and damage output. Some Heroes, like Sombra, Junkrat, and Ashe, have insanely powerful ultimates that can swipe an enemy team. Other Heroes, like Hanzo, Genji, and Bastion, have an insane damage output.

S-Tier Support Heroes

  • Kiriko
  • Mercy
  • Moira

The best Support Heroes in Overwatch 2 are Kiriko, Mercy, and Moira. After you unlock Kiriko, you’ll find that her Kunai knives deal devastating damage. Mercy can revive fallen teammates and provides the best healing out of any Support Hero. Moira can sneak around, deal some unexpected damage, and heal her team very effectively.

Overwatch 2 – A Tier Heroes

A-Tier Tank Heroes

  • D.Va
  • Reinhardt
  • Wrecking Ball
  • Orisa
  • Winston
  • Doomfist

The A-tier Tank Heroes are all solid picks but have one or two elements of their overall kit that need some work. All of them are excellent in matches and can even beat S-tier Tanks if played right. Orisa and Doomfist’s reworks are well-received and, once you unlock D.Va, she is a powerhouse.

A-Tier Damage Heroes

  • Echo
  • Mei
  • Sojourn
  • Pharah
  • Widowmaker
  • Tracer
  • Soldier: 76
  • Reaper
  • Cassidy

These Damage Heroes are all extremely fun to use, may require some deeper strategy knowledge, and support their teams well. Pharah and Echo can surprise enemy teams with aerial attacks, Reaper and Tracer can sneak in and out of combat, and Sojourn and Soldier: 76 can lock down areas with their consistent damage.

A-Tier Support Heroes

  • Lúcio
  • Zenyatta
  • Baptiste
  • Ana

Lúcio, Zenyatta, Baptiste, and Ana are all solid Support picks. Whether they don’t heal as consistently, don’t deal as good of damage, or just need a few tweaks to their abilities, these Support Heroes belong in A-tier.

Overwatch 2 – B Tier Heroes

B-Tier Tank Heroes

  • Zarya
  • Sigma

In the Tank B tier, we have Zarya and Sigma. Again, while these Heroes are still good and can be even better than S-tier Heroes, they generally land in the B-tier because of their inability to do what other Tank Heroes do. Whether it is because of their less effective kits, their overall support, or damage output, these Tanks could use a bit of love.

B-Tier Damage Heroes

  • Symmetra
  • Torbjörn

Symmetra and Torbjörn land in B-tier for Damage Heroes. Though Symmetra is one of my favorite Heroes, both she and Torbjörn have weak ultimates that could use a bit of a buff. Their abilities are great, but all-in-all, they need some reworking or damage buffing to make them better Damage Heroes.

B-Tier Support Heroes

  • Brigitte

Lastly, we have Brigitte as the B-tier Support Hero. Brigitte is a good Hero, one that can deal a lot of great damage and buff her team in numerous ways. She provides the weakest healing, which makes her a difficult Support Hero to play.

And that is every Overwatch 2 Hero ranked. I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but it bears repeating. All of the Overwatch 2 Heroes are good and can be S-tier in the right hands. To learn how to turn your A-tier D.Va into S-tier, visit our Overwatch 2 page for Hero guides and much more.
