Warzone is Getting a 120Hz Support Fix on Xbox Series X Soon

Call of Duty: Warzone has had broken 120 FPS support on Xbox Series consoles for some time now, but a 120Hz fix is on the way soon according to the game’s developers. Warzone received high refresh rate support when the Xbox Series consoles were released, but the feature has been broken for all players since December, leaving next-gen players stuck at 60 FPS just like everyone else. While 60 FPS isn’t anywhere near unplayable, many next-gen console owners feel cheated out of their next-gen experience, especially since the feature has been disabled for several months at this point.

In a recent tweet, however, Warzone developer Raven Software revealed that a 120Hz fix for Xbox Series consoles will be deployed in the mid-season patch hitting the game next week. This is the Season 3 Reloaded update, so it will also bring a ton of new features to the game for players to enjoy as well.

While it’s nice to see that Xbox Series players will finally be able to enjoy high framerates in Warzone yet again after five months of silence, this problem is emblematic of many of the issues players have with Warzone as a whole right now. Raven Software has typically been slow to fix bugs, address glitches, and remedy problems that players have been experiencing since the launch of Warzone Pacific last November.

Players aren’t too happy that an issue as simple as this took multiple months to fix, especially when 120Hz support has been working on PlayStation 5 this whole time. That means Xbox players have had to play the Operation Monarch event with Godzilla and Kong among other Warzone milestones with a lesser experience. At least the update will bring parity to both sides.

The upcoming update will also kick off Season 3 Reloaded in Call of Duty: Warzone and Vanguard. An all-new SMG called the H4 Blixen is set to be added to the game, and it looks like it may be a popular choice for Warzone players. Warzone is also getting the Serpentine Perk from Vanguard, which reduces damage while sprinting. The patch is scheduled for next week, but make sure you’ve completed all of the Operation Monarch challenges and secure the Ancient Rivalry weapon blueprint before the event ends.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
