Kuki-Shinobu

For those looking to complete the Arataki gang, Kuki Shinobu and her ascension materials are probably all that’s on a Genshin player’s mind. The 4-star Electro Sword user is set to arrive in the second half of the 2.7 patch update for Genshin Impact, finding herself in the rerun banner of the Geo Claymore 5-star Arataki Itto, the one-track-minded leader that’s she often needed to get out of jail cells. Though the character will not yet arrive for at least a couple of weeks, players with the determination to get her can certainly farm her materials beforehand, and this guide will discuss how.

Finding Kuki Shinobu Ascension Materials in Genshin Impact

Kuki Shinobu requires the local specialty Naku Weed, enemy materials from specters, and boss materials from the Ruin Serpent. Like her country of origin, both Naku Weed and specters can be found in Inazuma, while the Ruin Serpent requires visiting the depths of the Chasm. This does mean that players who are just starting this patch will have a lot of story quests to grind through before they can unlock the respective regions where the above materials can be procured. Needed also are Vajrada Amethyst, a series of Elemental materials obtainable from defeating Electro bosses in the open world.

Naku Weed can be harvested all around the Inazuman isles except for Watatsumi and Tsurumi. Though Kannazuka and Seirai Islands arguably have the tightest spread of Naku Weeds, making the gathering process less time-consuming. Though players will very likely require upwards of more than a hundred Naku Weeds if they are looking to ascend Kuki all the way, so they’ll either have to gather Naku Weed in someone else’s world or scrounge up all they can in theirs. Below is a screenshot showing their locations on a map for Inazuma.

As for specters, those balloon creatures are largely found on the Watatsumi and Seirai islands, they come in all kinds of elements, and their floating properties make them difficult to deal with, unfortunately, the materials that they drop are very much required to ascend Kuki Shinobu and will need to be defeated in the dozens to Ascend her into higher stages and level up her Talents.

Last but not least is the Ruin Serpent, located in the depths of the Chasm. The boss can be found at the Serpent’s Cave, in the Underground Mines of the same region. Players will have to complete a series of world quests, starting from the surface level of the Chasm, before they can unlock access to the Underground Mines. It is necessary to point out that Yelan also requires boss materials from the Ruin Serpent, players looking to train both characters will likely be fighting quite an amount of Ruin Serpents until they’ve gotten all the materials that they need.

The total amount of materials required to get Kuki Shinobu from level 1 to level 90 is as follows:

  • Local Specialty: 168 Naku Weed
  • Vajrada Amethyst: 1 Sliver, 9 Fragment, 9 Chunk, 6 Gemstone
  • Specters: 18 Husk, 30 Heart, 36 Nucleus
  • Ruin Serpent: 46 Runic Fang

Genshin Impact is available now on PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Android, and iOS.
